Incalculables son las consecuencias desastrosas que habría ocasionado el triunfo de los planes liberticidas del ingrato traidor al consumar su obra de iniquidad ¡ay de
la Patria! hoy estaría anegada en sangre, envuelta en luto y desconsuelo; desquiciados los simientos sociales, el jornalero sin trabajo, el artesano sin ocupación: agotadas las fuentes de la industria, muerto el comercio, el pueblo sin pan, ¿y quién sabe si un cataclismo de desesperación popular no hubiera repetido las sangrientas escenas del infortunado Perú perpetradas en los malhadados Gutierrez.
