| Description: | En este artículo estudiamos el conflicto social vinculado a un megaproyecto minero en la zona de Íntag, en el Ecuador, desde una perspectiva que combina la geografía crítica y la ecología política. Analizamos en qué medida el conflicto, que inició hace dos décadas, ha dado lugar a cambios significativos en las territorialidades de la zona. Interpretamos la creación de la Reserva Comunitaria de Junín como un proceso de reterritorialización, liderado por comunidades aledañas al proyecto y amenazadas por la territorialidad que busca imponer capitales megamineros transnacionales. In this article we study a social conflict case related to a large-scale mining project in Ecuador (in the so-called Intag area), from a mixed critical geography and political ecology perspective. We intend to address to what extent this two-decades-long conflict led to significant changes in the territorialities in the area. We interpret the creation of the Junin’s Comunity Reserve as a re-territorialization process, led by surrounding communities, threatened by the territoriality that try to impose transnational “megamining” capitals. |
