dc.description	Esta descripción y análisis del rendimiento del sistema electoral español pretende responder a sencillas preguntas ¿Qué estaba en juego y qué objetivos se pretendían alcanzar y evitar cuando se diseñaron los elementos básicos del sistema electoral español? Y, ¿en qué medida dichas reglas han sido funcionales para alcanzar dichos objetivos? Se pretende mostrar que el diseño básico del sistema electoral, aprobado por las Cortes del régimen autoritario, han cumplido las funciones básicas de las elecciones y los fines perseguidos. Las reglas de juego electoral han facilitado que los comicios celebrados, además de lograr representación y forjar diversos tipos de gobierno con suficiente legitimidad, permitan la alternancia política. La continuidad de dichas reglas ha canalizado los lógicos cambios del comportamiento electoral de las casi 200 elecciones celebradas durante casi cuarenta años en contextos muy diversos. Además las normas han podido sortear las históricas divisiones y discontinuidad de los dirigentes políticos, la fragilidad de las formaciones políticas y la persistencia de la política de adversarios (adversary polítics) que habitualmente han dificultado la gobernabilidad.	es_ES
dc.description	This description and analysis on the efficiency of the Spanish electoral system pursue to answer to simple questions: Which goals were pursued by those who design the main elements of the electoral system? And to what extent these electoral rules have been useful to reach to those goals? I will try to show that the main design of the electoral system, that were approved by the last Legislature of the Francoist regime, have played the main roles of the elections and the pursued goals. The electoral rules have contributed to reach representation, different and legitimated types of governments and their partisan rotation. The stability of the aforementioned electoral rules has channeled the logic changes of the electoral behavior in nearly the 200 elections during the last forty years in quite different scenarios. In addition, the electoral rules could channeled also the historical divisions and discontinuity of the political elites, the fragility of the political organizations and the persistence of the adversary politics, that frequently had make difficult the governability.	es_ES
