dc.description	En este artículo se revisan los fundamentos teóricos y filosóficos del concepto de desigualdad como justificación a las medidas redistributivas y de atención a las asimetrías en el bienestar, en escenarios de persistente y alta desigualdad. Presenta, primero, un planteamiento analítico sobre los principales conceptos de desigualdad dentro de la teoría igualitarista contemporánea y, segundo, un análisis empírico que asocia la desigualdad y el nivel de bienestar anuales en 18 países de América Latina, de 2001 a 2013, por el tipo de régimen de bienestar. Uno de los principales resultados es que, en países con regímenes de bienestar más igualitaristas y de mayor desmercantilización, la asociación entre desigualdad y bienestar es negativa y estadísticamente significativa.	es_ES
dc.description	The present paper aims to review theoretical and philosophical concepts of inequality as a justification for redistributive measures and attention to asymmetries in well-being in scenarios of persistent and high inequality. It presents, first, an analytical approach on the main conceptualizations of inequality within what has been termed as egalitarian contemporary theory, and second, an empirical analysis which associates annual inequality and well-being in 18 Latin American countries, from 2001 to 2013, by welfare regime typologies. One of its main results points out to a negative and statistically significant correlation between inequality and well-being within countries with a more egalitarian and decommodifying welfare regimes.	es_ES
