Description:	El propósito de la presente investigación es analizar los efectos de la descentralización administrativa en Colombia a partir del caso de estudio del municipio de Ibagué, departamento del Tolima, entre los años 2010-2020, en relación con su desarrollo local y la implementación de los acuerdos de paz. Para ello, fue necesario hacer el análisis y reflexión en torno a los conceptos de descentralización administrativa y políticas públicas, desarrollo local y los acuerdos de paz entre la guerrilla de las FARC EP (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia- Ejército del Pueblo) y el gobierno nacional del año 2016. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, se efectuó la revisión conceptual, normativa, cuantitativa y cualitativa a partir de los resultados de indicadores de gestión del municipio de Ibagué en relación con la descentralización administrativa, indicadores que describieran el desarrollo local, calidad de vida y mercado laboral, así como los resultados de mediciones, informes y reportes que dieran cuenta de la implementación de los acuerdos de paz en la ciudad seleccionada para el estudio de caso. A pesar de los buenos resultados en materia de gestión administrativa, Ibagué presenta importantes desafíos en cuanto a generación de empleo, oferta de servicios públicos y la aplicación efectiva de la descentralización administrativa y de los acuerdos de paz. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of administrative decentralization in Colombia based on the case study of the Municipality of Ibagué, Department of Tolima, between the years 2010-2020, in relation to its local development and the implementation of the agreements of peace. For this, it was necessary to analyze and reflect on the concepts of administrative decentralization and public policies, local development and the peace agreements between the FARC-EP (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia- Army of the People) guerrillas and the National government. Taking into account the above, the conceptual, normative, quantitative and qualitative review was carried out based on the results of management indicators of the municipality of Ibagué in relation to administrative decentralization, indicators that describe local development, quality of life and labor market. As well as the results of measurements, reports and reports that accounted for the implementation of the peace agreements in the city selected for the case study. Despite the good results in terms of administrative management, Ibagué presents important challenges in terms of job creation, supply of public services and the effective application of administrative decentralization and the peace agreements.
