| Resumen / Abstract : | In Montevideo- Uruguay, an average of more than thirteen thousand complaints are made annually against men who commit violence, and the referral of these aggressors to specialized services for their care and re-education is not an extended measure from the Judicial Power or is it mandatory (except in high-risk cases where the electronic device is disposed). This research aims to analyze the different public policies aimed at the intervention of male aggressors and male aggressors and femicides deprived of liberty, as a measure of protection towards women, partners or former partners who complain, in the province of Montevideo-Uruguay. It will be carried out through the analysis of the categories gender, gender-based violence, masculinities, men who exert violence and interventions with male aggressors. The analysis cut is taken from the period 2013 to 2020, since it is from this date that this type of specialized services for men who exert violence in Montevideo began to be implemented. Four specialized care programs derived from state and governmental public policies are delimited as the object of study, using a qualitative methodology that includes conducting semi-structured interviews with technicians and senior positions related to each of the selected care programs. |
