dc.descriptionLa presente investigación explora las percepciones y usos culturales de la tecnología digital en un grupo de adolescentes de sectores populares argentinos analizando la brecha digital desde una perspectiva cualitativa. A partir del trabajo de campo realizado, se analiza las condiciones de acceso a dispositivos tecnológicos e Internet de esos jóvenes; la finalidad e intensidad del uso de la tecnología digital; sus motivaciones e intereses para el uso; las características del ambiente socio-digital que habitan y cómo es el abordaje de la tecnología digital en la escuela. Los resultados de la investigación muestran, entre otros aspectos, que el celular es el principal dispositivo de acceso, que la integración de la tecnología digital en la escuela es limitada y que el conocimiento sobre inteligencia artificial de estos jóvenes es superficial. Asimismo, evidencian que el uso de las tecnologías digitales se centra principalmente en el consumo de contenidos y que las perspectivas laborales de los jóvenes no contemplan la tecnología como un área de interés. Se destaca la complejidad de la brecha digital, de carácter multicausal, y la necesidad de políticas públicas con un enfoque integral que garanticen el acceso, el desarrollo de habilidades y mejores oportunidades para los jóvenes.es_ES
dc.descriptionThe present study explores the perceptions and cultural uses of digital technology among a group of adolescents from low-income sectors in Argentina, analyzing the digital divide from a qualitative perspective. Based on fieldwork, the study examines these young people's access to technological devices and the Internet; the purpose and intensity of their digital technology use; their motivations and interests; the characteristics of the socio-digital environment they inhabit; and how digital technology is approached in schools. The research findings reveal, among other aspects, that mobile phones are the primary access device, that the integration of digital technology in schools is limited, and that these adolescents have only a superficial understanding of artificial intelligence. Additionally, the findings indicate that digital technology use is primarily focused on content consumption and that young people’s career aspirations do not consider technology as an area of interest. The study highlights the complexity of the digital divide, which is shaped by multiple factors, and underscores the need for comprehensive public policies that ensure access, skill development, and better opportunities for young people.es_ES
