| Description: | El derecho a la autonomía reproductiva, comprendido como el acceso a la maternidad
libre, voluntaria y responsable se enfrenta en Costa Rica y Nicaragua a la oposición de dogmas cristianos transformados en leyes. En este mismo escenario político donde la Iglesia católica y las Iglesias evangélicas son las protagonistas, aparecen grupos
minoritarios que reivindican un discurso cristiano que incorpora total o parcialmente
los derechos sexuales y reproductivos. Estas “disidencias religiosas” se involucran directamente en la cotidianidad de las mujeres y pueden representar alianzas políticas potenciales para el movimiento feminista. In Nicaragua and Costa Rica, the right to a reproductive autonomy, which implies access to a free, voluntary and responsible motherhood, is being hindered by Christian core beliefs changed into laws. This political scenario, in which Catholic and Evangelical beliefs prevail, is also where minority groups spring up, reclaiming a Christian discourse that entirely or partially protects all sexual and reproductive rights. These “religious dissidences” are a part of women’s everyday lives and have the potential to become political alliances for the feminist movement. |
