Description:	El auge altermundista del tercer milenio es visto como reto que demanda revisar críticamente el providencialismo que marcó buena parte de los utopismos del pasado, y en especial el de cierto marxismo. Determinismos históricos cuyo antecedente inmediato es la filosofía de Hegel, parcialmente retomada por Marx pero en clave materialista. La opción que se propone es una dialéctica abierta y una visión de la historia, no como destino sino como hazaña de la libertad. Postura que desde fines del siglo XIX comienza a arraigar en el propio marxismo, ante el desafío que representaba el ascenso revolucionario en un país periférico, y por tanto presuntamente “inmaduro”, como Rusia. The alterworldist rise of the third millennium is seen as a challenge that demands critical review of providentialism that marked much of the utopianism of the past, and especially of certain Marxism. Historical determinism whose immediate predecessor is the philosophy of Hegel, partially retaken by Marx but in materialistic key. The option proposed is an open and a dialectic view of history, not as a destination but as a feat of freedom. Position that since the late nineteenth century begins to take root in Marxism itself, in the context of revolutionary upsurge in a peripheral country, presumably “immature”, as Russia.
