Description:	Este ensayo periodiza la compleja relación entre la economía y el sistema militar de EU contrastando lo que se conoce como “keynesianismo militar” o “economía de guerra permanente” con una fase ulterior poskeynesiana. Mientras la fase del keynesianismo militar es caracterizada como una etapa en la cual el crecimiento de la economía militar funciona como una fuerza de arrastre propulsora del nivel de empleo y la prosperidad general; la fase poskeynesiana se escudriña mostrando, desde fines de la década de los noventa, el ascenso de los gastos de orden militar ya no produce el mismo impacto, de suerte que, deriva en déficit fiscal y endeudamiento sin contribuir de ningún modo el aumento neto del nivel de empleo en EU. This essay periodizes the complex relationship between the economy and the U.S. military system, contrasting what is known as “military Keynesianism” or “permanent war economy” with a ulterior phase of post-Keynesianism. While the phase of military Keynesianism is characterized as a stage in which the growth of the military economy works as a force to propelling the level of employment and general prosperity; postkeynesian phase is scrutinized showing how, since the end of the decade of the nineties, the rise of military spending does not produce the same impact, so that leads to fiscal deficit and debt without contributing in any way the net increase in employment levels in the U.S..
