El crecimiento de la economía informal fue una de las tendencias más notables en el Ecuador de las últimas décadas del siglo XX. En este artículo se analizan las interrelaciones entre las zonas rurales y las ciudades que configuraron este tipo de economía a partir de complejos patrones de reforma agraria y reestructuración agrícola, así como de las transformaciones en el comercio internacional. The growth of the informal economy was one of the most notable trends in Ecuador in the last decades of the twentieth century. This article analyzes the interrelationships between rural areas and cities that shaped this type of economy as a result of complex patterns of agrarian reform and agricultural restructuring, as well as transformations in international trade.
