Este artículo es producto de una investigación realizada entre directivos de cinco (05) universidades a saber: UDO, UNEG, UBV, UPTB y UNESR, todas con núcleos en Ciudad Bolívar - Venezuela. Como objetivo principal tuvo el analizar la función onto-epistémica de la gerencia universitaria desde la complejidad. Es de suma importancia señalar que la gerencia universitaria es una organización de naturaleza compleja, considerando su compresión y acción a través de las prácticas administrativas, modelos organizacionales, emocionales, expectativas y actitudes que conforma la praxis gerencial en el contexto latinoamericano; así mismo, la relación que debería existir entre la universidad y la sociedad. This article is the result of a research study conducted among university administrators from five (05) universities: UDO, UNEG, UBV, UPTB, and UNESR, all with campuses in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela. Its main objective was to analyze the onto-epistemic function of university management from a complexity perspective. It is of utmost importance to note that university management is a complex organization, considering its understanding and action through administrative practices, organizational models, emotions, expectations, and attitudes that shape managerial praxis in the Latin American context; as well as the relationship that should exist between the university and society.
