Introducción: en Paraguay, la relación entre política y narcotráfico se remonta a la última etapa de la dictadura (1954- 1989), aunque inició un proceso expansivo en los años siguientes. Objetivo: analizar cómo el narcotráfico mantuvo y amplió su incidencia en el país gracias a la instalación de relaciones cada vez más estrechas entre el crimen organizado y la clase política surgida con la democracia. Introduction: In Paraguay, the relationship between drug trafficking and politics dates back to the last stage of the dictatorship (1954-1989), although it began an expansive process in the following years. Objective: Analyze how drug trafficking maintained and expanded its influence in the country thanks to the establishment of increasingly close relations between organized crime and the political class that emerged with democracy.
