En el presente artículo se analiza el ejercicio de la libre determinación y la representación política indígena durante las administraciones municipales del Área Metropolitana de Monterrey (AMM) entre 2018 y 2021. El estudio se realiza desde una perspectiva cualitativa, se aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a representantes de organizaciones de la sociedad civil (OSC) en materia indígena y se enviaron solicitudes de información para conocer las acciones gubernamentales de seis de los municipios con mayor cantidad de habitantes de esa etnia.
This article analyzes the exercise of self-determination and indigenous political representation during the municipal administrations of the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (AMM), 2018- 2021. Using a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews were applied to representatives of civil society organizations in topics related to indigenous people, and requests were sent for information in order to understand governmental actions in the six municipalities with the largest numbers of indigenous people.
