dc.description	Con la proliferación de aplicaciones para citas para dispositivos tecnológicos se han generado diversas preguntas en torno a las variables psicosociales que circulan dentro y fuera de ellas. Por tanto, el objetivo de este estudio se concentra en Tinder, la cual ha crecido en popularidad en América Latina, particularmente en México, gestando preguntas sobre qué motiva a los individuos a hacer uso de la aplicación y cómo se presentan en ella. Para atender a esto se realizó un estudio exploratorio - descriptivo a través de la aplicación en línea de un cuestionario abierto respecto de los motivos de uso y manejo de impresiones en Tinder. En él, colaboraron 450 mexicanos/as, con un rango de edad de 18 a 38 años. Para analizar los resultados se hizo un análisis de contenido. Se encontró que tanto hombres como mujeres comparten motivos de uso social de Tinder, sin embargo, los hombres tienden a buscar con mayor frecuencia que las mujeres encuentros sexuales; mientras que ellas buscan establecer amistades. En cuanto al manejo de impresiones, ambos buscan generar interés y atracción en su perfil, por lo que emplean estrategias de autopromoción en la creación de este. En ambas variables la edad no se consideró como un factor que impacte. Por último, se sugiere que al ser Tinder un espacio virtual que promueve la satisfacción de necesidades psicosociales del individuo se continúe haciendo estudios en torno a su uso. With the proliferation of dating applications for technological devices, various questions have been generated around the psychosocial variables that circulate inside and outside them. Therefore, the objective of this study focuses on Tinder, which has grown in popularity in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, raising questions about what motivates individuals to make use of the application and how they present themselves in it. To address this, an Exploratory - Descriptive study was carried out through the online application of an open questionnaire regarding the reasons for using and handling impressions on Tinder. In it, 450 Mexicans collaborated, with an age range of 18 to 38 years. To analyze the results, a content analysis was done. It was found that both men and women share reasons for social use of Tinder, however, men tend to seek sexual encounters more frequently than women; while they seek to establish friendships. Regarding the management of impressions, both seek to generate interest and attraction in their profile, so they use self-promotion strategies in the creation of this. In both variables, age was not considered as an impacting factor. Finally, it is suggested that as Tinder is a virtual space that promotes the satisfaction of the individual's psychosocial needs, studies on its use continue to be carried out.	es_ES
