dc.description	El objetivo del presente trabajo es el de aplicar para el caso del Estado de Michoacán aquellas medidas que dan cuenta fundamentalmente de la distribución del ingreso y del grado de pobreza extrema en la entidad. En este sentido, se obtienen los índices de Gini y el de Foster, Greer y Thorbecke (FGT), para los ámbitos nacional, estatal y municipal; ello con la finalidad de realizar un análisis comparativo que nos permita conocer la situación que guarda el Estado en materia de concentración de la riqueza y de los niveles de pobreza durante el período 1980-2005. Los resultados de la instrumentación de los índices mencionados en el Estado de Michoacán, lo ubican por encima de la media nacional en lo que a concentración del ingreso se refiere, con un índice de Gini de 0.4238 para el 2005, mientras que en el país se tiene un valor de 0.3732. En cuanto a la incidencia de la pobreza extrema en la entidad, entre 1980 y 1990 pasó de un 50.29 a un 27.86 por ciento respectivamente. En tanto que para el 2005, se tuvo un 32.05 por ciento de la población total bajo estas condiciones de privación. Tal situación se observa también por arriba de los niveles de pobreza extrema registrados a escala nacional para ese mismo año –24.30 por ciento–. Por municipios en el 2005, destacan de manera general por sus menores niveles de concentración del ingreso y de pobreza extrema: Morelia, Lázaro Cárdenas, Uruapan, Zamora, Sahuayo, Jacona y Peribán. En el otro extremo, es decir, con la concentración más alta de la riqueza y el porcentaje más elevado de pobres respecto al total de su población sobresalen: Nocupétaro, Chucándiro, Carácuaro, Tiquicheo y Susupuato.	es_EC
dc.description	The objective of this study is to apply some measures on income distribution and the degree of extreme poverty in the case of Michoacan. In this sense, the Gini, and the Foster, Greer and Thorbecke (FGT) indexes were estimated at the national, state and municipal levels with the objective to make a comparative analysis to get insight on the degree wealth concentration and poverty levels in this state during the period 1980-2005. The results achieved in this research suggest that the income concentration index is above the national average in this state. The Gini index was 0.4238 in 2005, meanwhile the national average value of this index was 0.3732. In relation the extreme poverty in Michoacan, this index got a value of 50.29 and 27.86 in 1980 and 1990, respectively. Meanwhile, the results suggest that the total population under the poverty line was 32.05% in 2005. However, this index was also above the national average of extreme poverty in this year (24.30%). Analyzing the income concentration index at municipal level, the results showed that the less concentrated municipalities in extreme poverty were: Morelia, Lazaro Cardenas, Uruapan, Zamora, Sahuayo, Jacona y Periban. On the other hand, the most concentrated municipalities in terms of income and extrem poverty were: Nocupetaro, Chucandiro, Caracuaro, Tiquicheo y Susupuato.	es_EC
