El presente artículo pretende explicar una de las actuales concepciones de la geopolítica, en donde los actores principales ya no son los Estados-Nación, sino las Empresas Multinacionales, que utilizando herramientas geoestratégicas como los Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual (DPI) comercializan y privatizan derivados de la biodiversidad. En este contexto, se indagará el caso de las patentes de invención con recursos biológicos y genéticos en Colombia desde el año 1993 al 2014.
This article aims to explain one of the current conceptions of geopolitics, where the main actors are no longer the States, but the Multinational Enterprises, which, using geostrategic tools such as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), commercialize and privatize derivatives of biodiversity . In this context, the case of patents of invention with biological and genetic resources in Colombia from 1993 to 2014 will be investigated.
