En este trabajo se realiza una reflexión sobre el patrón histórico de acumulación latinoamericano a la luz de las transformaciones contemporáneas del capitalismo mundial y, en particular, sobre el papel del conocimiento en el proceso de valoración de capital. En esta perspectiva, se analizan las condiciones de la inserción latinoamericana en la economía mundial, prestando atención, por un lado, al patrón de "movilidad estructural" que se viene consolidando en las últimas décadas y, por otro, a la naturleza de la brecha tecnocogtiva que se afirma en ese marco. La persistencia de esta trayectoria histórica, a pesar de los proyectos de cambio impulsados en los años recientes por algunos gobiernos progresistas, obliga a repensar los fundamentos de una posible transformación estructural y, sobre todo, de su núcleo principal: la matriz de producción de conocimiento que hoy impera en nuestra región.
This article presents a reflection on the historical pattern of accumulation in Latin America in light of the contemporary transformations of world capitalism and, in particular, on the role of knowledge in the valorization of capital process. In this perspective, we analyze the conditions of the Latin American insertion in the world economy. This way, we pay attention, on the one hand, to the pattern of “structural immobility” that has been consolidated in the last decades and, on the other hand, to the nature of the techno-cognitive gap that is being affirmed in this context. In spite of projects of change promoted in recent years by some progressive governments, the persistence of this historical path, compels us to rethink the foundations of a possible structural transformation and, above all, of its main core: the knowledge production matrix that prevail in our region today.
