El presente artículo analiza las experiencias laborales de un grupo de jóvenes y adolescentes que vive en hogares de bajos ingresos en México. Para ello, se parte de una definición amplia de trabajo que integra tanto las actividades orientadas a generar ingresos como las condiciones de reproducción del grupo doméstico. Desde esta perspectiva, con base en 74 estudios de caso realizados en 27 localidades urbanas y rurales del país en 2017, el artículo estudia la diversidad de situaciones laborales que han vivido estos jóvenes y adolescentes, además de las condiciones en que realizan los quehaceres del hogar, las actividades agropecuarias, la participación en el comercio y el servicio doméstico, entre los más frecuentes.
In this paper the work experience of a group of adolescents that live in low-income homes in Mexico is analyzed. In order to do this, work is defined in an ample way that integrates the activities oriented towards generating income, such as the conditions of the reproduction of the domestic group. From this perspective and grounded in 74 case studies in 27 urban and rural localities in the country in 2017, this article studies the diversity of work experiences that these adolescents have lived. This article also focuses on the conditions in which household chores take place, farming activities, participation in commerce, and domestic services, among the most frequent.
