La ecuación neoliberal para la modernización del campo mexicano gestionada desde el Estado procuró la reestructuración del capitalismo agrario para lograr su plena integración a la economía estadounidense y se propuso desplazar a los ejidos y comunidades del escenario productivo para favorecer la expansión de las corporaciones agroexportadoras. En consecuencia, el agronegocio exportador devino en el actor principal del campo en torno al cual se estructuraron las políticas públicas durante más de tres décadas, al cabo de las cuales, el sector agroalimentario logró una balanza comercial superavitaria, pero también el aumento de la dependencia alimentaria.
The neoliberal equation for the modernization of the Mexican countryside managed by the State sought the restructuring of agricultural capitalism to achieve its full integration into the US economy and proposed to remove the ejidos and communities from the productive scenario to favor the expansion of agro-export corporations. Consequently, export agribusiness became the main actor in the field around which public policies were structured for more than three decades, after which the agri-food sector achieved a surplus trade balance but also increased food dependence.
