Abstract
Description
The article proposes the configurations of “established and outsiders” of Norbert Elias as a model for the re- search of the conflicts for the management of Natural Protected Areas. The cases analyzed ethnographically are the National Park El Tepozteco in Mexico and the Biosphere Reserve Yabotí in Argentina. The principal moments of “established and outsiders” configurations in both Natural Protected Areas are exposed, as well as the evolution of the social cohesion of the local communities with regard to the growth of tourism and the progressive outcomes of conflicts and partnerships between local communities, private companies, government agencies, and environmental organizations.
