San Félix de Guayana, poblado fundado en fecha incierta entre 1724 (Américo Fernández) y 1771 (Hermano Nectario María), fue el asentamiento de avanzada de los conquistadores españoles para la penetración hacia las selvas del Rio Yuruari, en la búsqueda del soñado El Dorado de inmensas riquezas que se escondían en las profundidades de la inexplorada Guayana. Esta investigación Identifica el papel de San Félix, como punto referencial en el descubrimiento y conquista de los territorios del Alto Orinoco, así como su evolución, desarrollo y el repetido proceso de marginación político territorial.
San Félix de Guayana, a town founded on an uncertain date between 1724 (Américo Fernández) and 1771 (Brother Nectario María), was the advanced settlement of the Spanish conquerors for penetration into the jungles of the Yuruari River, in search of the dreamed El Dorado of immense riches that were hidden in the depths of the unexplored Guayana. This research identifies the role of San Felix, as a point of reference in the discovery and conquest of the territories of the Upper Orinoco, as well as their evolution, development and the repeated process of territorial political marginalization.
