Abstract
Description
This article analyzes the empirical experience of two participatory art projects with migratory Central American minors in Mexico. The research focuses on the trajectory of adolescent migrants who are fleeing situations of extreme violence in their countries as well as those who are searching for family members who emigrated in the past. To understand the experience of these young migrants, the participatory art projects represent an innovative methodological approach that offers an alternative to traditional sociological research methods. It allows the researcher to understand aspects of the migratory experience that are not visible through traditional interviews and observations. This paper presents the methodology as well as some of the insights and analyses derived from two participative art projects.
