El presente artículo de investigación aborda la economía circular, entendiéndola como una alternativa atractiva que busca redefinir qué es el crecimiento, con énfasis en los beneficios para toda la sociedad. Esto implica disociar la actividad económica del consumo de recursos finitos y eliminar los residuos del sistema desde el diseño. Respaldada por una transición a fuentes renovables de energía, el modelo circular crea capital económico, natural y social y se basa en tres principios: eliminar residuos y contaminación desde el diseño, mantener productos y materiales en uso y regenerar sistemas naturales. Otra herramienta es la ecoinnovacion, que surge como una herramienta que conduce a una economía más competitiva y sostenible. La Argentina y la región de América Latina y el Caribe presentan un potencial productivo local en materia de energías renovables no convencionales. Junto al Acuerdo de Escazú, exploramos esas oportunidades que nos podrán encontrar con una sociedad más sostenible e inclusiva.
This paper will address the circular economy, understanding it as an attractive alternative that seeks to redefine what growth is, with an emphasis on benefits for the entire society. This implies decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources and eliminating waste from the system from design. Backed by a transition to renewable sources of energy, the circular model creates economic, natural and social capital and is based on three principles: eliminate waste and pollution from design, keep products and materials in use, and regenerate natural systems. Another tool is eco-innovation, which arises as a tool that leads to a more competitive and sustainable economy. Argentina and the region of Latin America and the Caribbean present a local productive potential in terms of non-conventional renewable energies. Together with the Escazú Agreement, we explore those opportunities that may find us with a more sustainable and inclusive society.
