Resumen / Abstract : El trabajo de muchos diferentes organismos especializados, los programas y los fondos de las Naciones Unidas ha entrado en la preparación de este informe. Además de proporcionar los insumos específicos en sus ámbitos de competencia, las organizaciones que contribuyen participaron en una revisión crítica del texto evolucionó. Al hacerlo, ayudaron a identificar las muchas sinergias que surgir cuando los diferentes sectores y variables se unen, así como proporcionar una visión de conjunto esencial. Un elemento de enorme importancia para allanar el camino para este proceso fue el hecho de que todas estas organizaciones atendieron el llamamiento del secretario general y aprobaron la Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio como una verdadera hoja de ruta y, en consecuencia, han sido concienzudamente seguimiento de los avances en todos los ámbitos relacionados con los mandatos. Esto nos permitió constituir una valiosa aportación de esta iniciativa conjunta y hacerlo más eficiente.
