El presente trabajo analiza las actuales propuestas en torno a la despenalización y legalización de las drogas psicotrópicas discutidas con mucho énfasis por autoridades y opinión pública. Se argumentará que si bien es un avance importante hacer que el poder político discuta y cuestione abiertamente la prohibición de las drogas a nivel mundial, la variedad de propuestas presentadas se enfrentan a inconsistencias técnicas que hacen inviable una tesis de este estilo para los fines planteados. Por el contrario, el tema sobre el prohibicionismo debe ser ubicado y mirado como un problema de alto espectro geopolítico mundial, lo cual impide una posible superación de este paradigma en el corto, mediano y largo plazo.
This paper analyzes current proposals for the decriminalization and legalization of psychotropic drugs emphatically discussed by authorities and public opinion. I argue that despite the importance of political powers openly discussing and questioning the worldwide prohibition on drugs, the variety of proposals for drug decriminalization on offer face technical inconsistencies that prove self-defeating. Instead, the topic of prohibitionism must be located as a major global and geopolitical problem, making such a paradigm shift impossible to overturn in the short, medium and long term.
