Description
En 2002 nace en Mar del Plata, Argentina, la ONG Surfrider Foundation Argentina (SFA). Esta organización compatibiliza la práctica de un deporte en contacto con la naturaleza, el surf, y el desarrollo de prácticas orientadas a proteger, rehabilitar y restaurar los diversos ecosistemas del mar argentino. A nivel local y en materia ambiental, la organización es reconocida por la producción y difusión de conocimiento sobre la ecología costera, las problemáticas ambientales de la ciudad y la región, así como el desarrollo de acciones específicas de concientización, defensa y protección de la costa marplatense. Esta comunicación caracteriza el rol de la SFA como productora de Conocimiento Ecológico Local (CEL). Para ello, describe y analiza las acciones, los procedimientos y las estrategias organizativas asociadas a la producción, publicación y difusión de conocimiento ambiental local de esta organización no gubernamental (ONG).

This organization reconciles the practice of a sport in contact with nature, surfing, and practices to protect, rehabilitate and restore diverse argentine sea ecosystems. Locally, in environmental issues, the organization is recognized because of the production and dissemination of coastal ecological knowledge, environmental problems of the city and the region, and the development of specific actions in defense and protection of the “marplatense” coastline. This paper characterizes the role of the SFA like a Local Ecological Knowledge (LEK) producer, describes and analyzes the actions, procedures and organizational strategies associated with the production, publication and dissemination of local environmental knowledge of the non-governmental organization (NGO).
