Este artículo es una reflexión teórica sobre el progreso. Dicha reflexión necesita un posicionamiento epistemológico que, en nuestro caso, será el contextualismo moderado. Tras ello, se revisan algunas propuestas sobre el progreso científico para, finalmente, relacionar el enfoque desarrollado por el filósofo Imre Niiniluoto con el del filósofo Mauricio Beuchot. El resultado final es una hermenéutica analógica del progreso científico basada en el uso de la verosimilitud y de la abducción, la cual necesita de información objetiva pero no descarta la inclusión de elementos subjetivos tales como la creatividad humana.
This paper is a theoretical reflection about progress. Such a reflection requires an epistemological positioning which, in this case, it will be moderate contextualism. Some proposals about scientific progress are reviewed, to then, relate the approach developed by the philosopher, Imre Niiniluoto, to that of the philosopher, Mauricio Beuchot. The final outcome is an analogical hermeneutic about scientific progress based on the use of verisimilitude and abduction, which needs objective information but does not discard the inclusion of subjective elements, such as human creativity.
