Abstract
Description
At this time, when the tension between ethicsand politics has reached high levels, producing a daily war against the institutions; when revolutions in the streets seem to be the only way to demonstrate discontent and the weaknesses of politics, another horizon is sought to be able to build a more just and authentic society, characterized by solidarity and civil respect for less favored groups. All countries, from North to South, are looking for a method that can relate politics to the values of democracy and the common good. This study aspires to focus attention on “beautiful” politics and how this is not unlimited power in the hands of only one politician, who would achieve self-referential and autonomous relationships, but limited power in the possession of a man with principles of solidarity and subsidiarity. Only the political “subject” who is able to live completely the “free gift” can discern and find the most suitable methods to resolve crisis situations of a civil, economic and ethical nature in society. In this sense, the plane of knowing, the cognitive, can give space to the plane of being, where values form part of civil friendship that, little by little, transforms itself into “beautiful” politics.
