Las actividades de las comunidades científicas se ven afectadas directa o indirectamente por grandes acontecimientos políticos y movimientos sociales, por periodos de inestabilidad, revueltas e incertidumbres que, aunque histórica y socialmente legítimos y necesarios, impactan en el quehacer científico y tecnológico, en algunos casos impulsándolo y proyectándolo con nuevos objetivos, incluso retroalimentando las luchas sociales, pero también en muchos casos, retrasando la actividad científica con periodos de carencias y estancamiento. Este escrito comenta algunas de las de las actividades científicas y técnicas más destacadas en dos momentos históricos de gran relevancia para la nación mexicana: el período que enmarcó el movimiento de Independencia, y la etapa inicial de la Revolución de 1910.
The activities of the scientific communities are directly or indirectly affected by the great political events and social movements, by periods of instability, revolts and uncertain that, -though historically and socially legitimate and necessary - impact the scientific and technological affairs; in some cases promoting and driving them to new objectives even feeding back the social movements but also, in some instances, retarding the scientific activity, creating periods of scarcity and stagnation. This paper comments on some of the most relevant scientific and technological activities in two very important historical moments of the Mexican nation: The period previous and around the starting of the Independence War and the initial stage of the Revolution of 1910.
