Este artículo estudia las relaciones ambiguas entre el populismo y la democracia a través de los
rituales y discursos de Abdalá Bucaram cuando regresó de su exilio en Panamá. El artículo discute
los diferentes significados del término “el pueblo”, las paradojas de la representación populistas
y los significados de la democracia para el populismo.
This article explores the ambiguous relationships between populism and democracy by focusing on the rituals and discourses of Abdalá Bucaram´s return from exile.
