El presente documento propone un análisis coyuntural sobre la situación energética del Ecuador, la manera en la que el Gobierno propone salir de la dependencia de los combustibles fósiles, enfrentando su condición de recurso no renovable, las fortalezas y debilidades de las alternativas que se plantean, aterrizándolas al contexto nacional. Se pone especial atención a los subsidios energéticos y su efecto en la realidad económica, social y ambiental de los ecuatorianos. Así mismo, el presente estudio se detiene en el uso de biocombustibles, su estado de situación, sus ventajas y desventajas.
