| dc.description | In Ecuador, the accelerated contagion of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was neglected from the public health sphere. The government’s priorities were not towards the most vulnerable populations, therefore, at the beginning of the pandemic the indigenous communities of the Amazonian region were heavily affected. This article analyzes the coping strategies used by an indigenous Kichwa family to deal with the disease, describing through ethnographic narratives the experiences related to the contagion and spread of the virus in the Ecuadorian Amazon. | es_ES |
