Contemplando el lugar 30 años después, parece que el tiempo se hubiera detenido, casi nada ha cambiado, la vieja casa de adobe español rodeada por murallas de tapia, el huerto con naranjos en flor, durazneros y nísperos, los establecimientos enfardadores y las bodegas para guardar el pasto, son los mismos; las casas de los antiguos inquilinos y la cancha de fútbol también. La tranquilidad del lugar nos hace difícil imaginar esa lejana mañana cuando decenas de hombres dispararon, colocando en el eje de la discusión nacional a los campesinos y la estrategia revolucionaria rural socialista.
