Demostrando la presencia de la mundialización de la pobreza como una peculiaridad de nuestra era a partir de mostrar los alcances de dos destacados informes de UN-Habitat de la ONU, The Challenge of Slums y Slums of the World: The face of urban poverty in the new millenium?, que dan cuenta del colapso del "neoliberalismo" e intentan promover el tránsito a una forma "neokeynesiana" de la economía y del Estado, este ensayo desarrolla una clasificación original de las distintas concepciones contemporáneas de la pobreza en acuerdo a las configuraciones históricas que cada una de ellas representa e impulsa. Esta clasificación permite constatar las encrucijadas que la mundialización de la pobreza encara con la vuelta de siglo.
Demonstrating the presence of the globalization of poverty as a peculiarity of our age from the analysis of the reach of two prominent reports of UN-UN Habitat, The Challenge of Slums and Slums of the World: The Face of Urban Poverty in the new mil lennium?, which show the collapse of "neoliberalism" and try to promote the transition to a "neokeynesian" form of the economy and the state, this paper develops an original classification of the various contemporary conceptions of poverty according to historical configurations that each of them represents and promotes. This classification allows note the crossroads that the globalization of poverty facing with the turn of the century.
