La interrelación de aspectos poblacionales y el medio ambiente es un aspecto relevante para entender fenómenos y problemáticas que enmarcan estos dos sistemas. Una posibilidad es observar la relación de la vulnerabilidad poblacional frente a la variabilidad climática y el posible cambio climático. La vulnerabilidad se entiende como la integración de las capacidades de resiliencia y adaptación, del grado de exposición al cambio climático y de la sensibilidad. Lo anterior determina si un municipio es capaz de reaccionar de manera adecuada en tiempo y espacio frente a factores sociales y ambientales en un contexto de cambio climático. Se propone un indicador para estudiar la vulnerabilidad de los municipios del estado de Jalisco, con información del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (inegi) —Censo, simbad— y del atlas climático digital de México.
The interrelationship of population and environment is an important aspect to understand events and issues that frame these two systems. One possibility is to look at the relationship between population vulnerability to climate variability and potential climate change. The vulnerability can be defined as the integration of resilience and adaptation capabilities, the degree of exposure to climate change and sensitivity. This determines whether a municipality is able to react appropriately in time and space, facing social and environmental factors in the context of climate change. We propose an indicator to study the vulnerability of the municipalities of the state of Jalisco, using data from inegi (Census, simbad) and digital climate atlas of Mexico.
