El Grupo Chaski constituido en Lima, Perú, en 1982 con la participación e iniciativa de cineastas convencidos de la necesidad de realizar, en forma colectiva, un proyecto de comunicación social que aporte al desarrollo de la cultura, tiene como finalidad el hacer uso del cine para indagar y cuestionar la problemática sociocultural que viven los sectores populares del Perú y latinoamérica.
