Este artículo tiene por objetivo explicar en qué consiste y los beneficios que, de realizarse, tendría
la propuesta Yasuní-ITT sobre el medio ambiente de la Amazonía, contribuyendo además
a la protección de los habitantes locales. Denuncia además, el escaso compromiso de los países
del primer mundo con la problemática del ‘cambio climático’ y la sanción impuesta al Ecuador
por impulsar una propuesta contraria a sus intereses y exigir –junto con otros países del Sur–
una negoción abierta y democrática.
The objective of this article is to explain the Yasuní-ITT proposal and the benefits it would bring, were it to be implemented, to the natural environment of the Amazon while contributing to the protection of local inhabitants. It addition, the author charges first world countries with scant commitment to addressing ‘climate change’ and what Ecuador is sacrificing by putting forward a proposal contrary to its interests and demanding –along with other countries of the south– open and democratic negotiations.
