El objetivo de este texto es averiguar si los indicadores e índices construidos por el Manifesto Project para ubicar a los partidos en las escalas izquierda-derecha, socioeconómica, sociocultural y centro-periferia son útiles para explicar el contenido de la competición electoral en México (1946-2012), Argentina (2003-2013), Brasil (2006-2014) y Chile (1989-2013).
The object of this text is to find out if the indicators and indices constructed by the Manifesto Project to locate the parties in the scales left-right, socio economic, socio cultural, and center-periphery are useful to explain the content of the electoral competition in Mexico (1946-2012), Argentina (2003-2013), Brazil (2006-2014) and Chile (1989-2013).
