Las telenovelas no reproducen de forma directa o simple la “ideología dominante”, como no ofrecen una visión crítica del orden social que promueve movilizaciones colectivas a favor de cambios sociales. Son en realidad uno de los foros fundamentales de la construcción de un hegemonía cultural y política que es siempre contradictoria. Al mismo tiempo en que se expresan los cambios que ocurren en la sociedad, constituyen activamente la misma sociedad que se proponen reflejar a partir de un orden cultural hegemónico.
