Este artículo tiene como objetivo proveer evidencia sobre la permanencia en el tiempo de los partidos políticos latinoamericanos a pesar de la crisis aludida en 12 países. Como se verá en los resultados, contrario a lo que se cree, la “crisis” de los partidos tradicionales no puede ser generalizada más allá de la región andina; y segundo, las políticas de inclusión de sectores marginados parece ser sólo importante y vital para las agrupaciones más antiguas que para las de reciente creación.
This article aims at providing evidence on the permanence of Latin American political parties through time, in spite of the crisis alluded to by 12 different countries. As opposed to the general belief, results show that the traditional parties’ crisis cannot be generalized beyond the Andean Region. Furthermore, the policies designed for the inclusion of marginalized sectors seem to be of vital importance only to senior groups, and not to those that have been recently created.
