Hoy damos inicio a una nueva etapa de la Revista Integración & Comercio que se caracteriza por importantes cambios respecto del pasado. Con todo, no concebimos a este ajuste de rumbo como una refundación de la revista. Se trata, más bien, de retomar los principios rectores que la guiaron en su desarrollo a lo largo de los últimos 33 años, primero (1976) en las páginas de Integración Latinoamericana y después (1996) con su actual título. El objetivo fundamental es definir aproximaciones renovadas y sintonizadas de dichos principios a las necesidades de los nuevos tiempos y que reconozcan, al mismo tiempo, las capacidades que se han ido instalando en la región progresivamente.
Today we open a new chapter in the Integration & Trade Journal, one characterized by important changes from past issues. Even so, we do not see this course adjustment as a relaunch of the Journal. Rather, we are revisiting the principles that have guided its development over the last 33 years, first as Integración Latinoamericana (Latin American Integration) (1976) and then under its current title (1996). The basic objective is to define renewed, fine tuned approaches to such principles to meet today’s needs, and at the same time, recognize the capabilities that have been developing in the region.
