En junio de este año, el Banco Mundial y el gobierno de Canadá realizaron en Taranta una conferencia mundial, con cerca de 2.000 participantes, sobre el tema que da título a este artículo. Su autora reflexiona en torno a las discusiones dadas en ese encuentro, y en uno paralelo y alternativo ("Conocimiento Local") organizado por movimientos ciudadanos canadienses, y trata de responder a una interrogante básica al respecto ¿'qué conocimiento para cuál desarrollo?
