Con la “extensión natural” de la iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta de China en América Latina, cada vez más países de la región han optado por participar en dicho proyecto. En el caso de Argentina, el brote de COVID-19 y la crisis económica parecen actuar como catalizadores para reestructurar la política comercial global y el desarrollo de las relaciones bilaterales con el país asiático. En este marco, el trabajo pretende analizar las características de la iniciativa, explicando el estado de situación del proyecto en América Latina, el impacto de la pandemia en Argentina, y en ese contexto especial, las ventajas que puede traer para el país austral sumarse al proyecto chino.
With the “natural extension” of the Belt and Road initiative of China in Latin America, more and more countries in the region have chosen to participate in this project. In the case of Argentina, the outbreak of COVID-19 and the economic crisis seem to act as a catalyst to restructure global trade policy and the development of bilateral relations with the Asian country. Within this framework, the article aims to analyze the characteristics of the initiative, explaining the status of the project in Latin America, the impact of the pandemic in Argentina, and in this special context, the advantages of joining the Chinese project.
