La planificación de una revista como Chasqui suele hacerse con la debida antelación, tratando de seleccionar aquellos tópicos que puedan tener mayor significado y permanencia. A veces, sin embargo, lo planificado cambia radicalmente de un día para otro, por la irrupción de eventos excepcionales que impactan en la historia por su gravedad y trascendencia.
Esto es lo que sucedió con el número que ahora publicamos. Chasqui 76 fue planificado originalmente con un tema de portada que contara cómo el flagelo de la corrupción afecta al periodismo latinoamericano. En consecuencia, el artículo de opinión debía profundizar aún más este tema, para subrayar la necesidad que se percibe en el medio ambiente de la región, de discutir a fondo la realidad tan compleja y amenazante como es la corrupción.
