El término globalización sugiere ideas como la compresión del mundo, el desarrollo de una
conciencia planetaria o la negación del espacio por el tiempo. En este sentido, se puede pensar
que estamos ante un proceso de homogeneización a escala mundial; sin embargo, la evidencia
empírica señala que numerosos lugares se han visto realzados dando lugar a una auténtica revitalización
de lo local. Este artículo intenta precisar el término.
“Globalization” suggests ideas like compression of the world, the development of a planetary conscience or the negation of space by time. In this sense, it is possible to think about a homogenization process on a world-wide scale; nevertheless, the empirical evidence indicates the contrary. This article tries to precise the term.
