dc.description	Se analiza el funcionamiento de los procesos de selección de candidatos del Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) a gobernadores que se realizaron entre los años de 2000 a 2007. Con el fortalecimiento electoral del PAN a nivel estatal, las candidaturas a los gobiernos estatales han adquirido gran relevancia dentro de la organización.	en
dc.description	The main objective of the investigation is to explain the process for selecting the Partido Acción Nacional’s candidates to the gubernatorial races during the 2000 to 2007. Along the PAN’s electoral strengthening at state level also their candidate’s posts have grown it’s own interest in between the party’s affiliates. Different results have been observed meanwhile centering the analysis on the groups interactions during these organizational moments, some of the most important results are the candidate’s profiles and also the degree of conflict held between the party players. The “dominant coalition” (coalición dominante) is considered the main element of the party’s organization to explain the different results generated inside these processes. So the investigation hypotheses propose to find change in the candidate selection’s results meanwhile there exist changes in the panista’s dominant coalition’s configuration in each state organization. The analysis unit of the investigation centered on the panista’s factions which integrate the dominant coalition, and for recovering the former it was decided to observe the panista’s precandidates and their campaign teams along the selections processes. Because the investigation centered on the PAN’s inner life, initially it was considered to use a case study methodology. But meanwhile it “descend” to the state level, the analysis recovered the comparative methodology basis to observed the party’s electoral development and it’s candidate selection processes during the study period. In the end it was concluded, maintaining approximate the electoral, institutional and organizational factors, the dominant coalition is an element that allows explaining changes in the candidate selection’s results.
