dc.descriptionAsumir a las industrias culturales sin más, como cualquier otra industria, nos confrontaría con enormes dificultades, algunas de las cuales fundaron los tempranos debates de la Economía política de la comunicación y la cultura. En este artículo reflexiono sobre los rasgos propios de estas industrias y de la televisión en particular, en dos aspectos: primero observando en cuánto difieren de cualquier otro proceso industrial de producción de mercancías por las características del trabajo que objetivan y la constitución de su valor, y en segundo lugar –aunque necesariamente de manera muy sumaria– por las limitaciones de la disciplina cuando se la asume de un modo que escinde a sus objetos de la totalidad de lo social.es_EC
dc.descriptionTo assume the cultural industries without much thought, like any other industry, would cause enormous difficulties, some of which founded the early debates in the political economy of communication and culture. In this article, I reflect upon the characteristics of these industries and of television in particular with respect to two aspects: First, I observe how much they differ from other industrial processes of production of merchandise, given their characteristics of work that they put in objective terms and their constitution of value. Secondly, although necessarily in a summarized way, I reflect on the limitations of disciplines when it is assumed in such a way it separates its objects form the totality of the social.es_EC
