Mi querido General; siento decirle que he recibido aquí un cablegrama, que hace muy indispensable mi regreso á Nueva York por el vapor que sale hoy. Me es grato decir que al dejar el Ecuador, los trabajos de construcción del ferrocarril progresan satisfactoriamente. La vía [track] está esta noche en Tixan-Viejo; á una distancia muy corta opuesta á la población de Tixan, en donde el largo viaducto de acero N°. 59 vá á colocarse. Este viaducto está actualmente desembarcándose del vapor "Cuzco"; y el señor Bennett tiene una magnífica organización y hará todo esfuerzo posible para llevar adelante los trabajos de construcción.
