El propósito de este artículo es analizar las categorías de hegemonía, antagonismo y populismo desarrolladas a lo largo de la obra de Ernesto Laclau. La hipótesis que atraviesa el trabajo sostiene que cada una de estas nociones funciona desplazándose entre diferentes campos analíticos, e incluso superponiéndose. Distinguir los usos de esas categorías –en el campo ontológico, óntico e identitario– permitirá colocar en el centro del debate discusiones relacionadas a la institución del orden social, la constitución de los sujetos políticos y de las identidades colectivas.
The aim of this article is to analyze the categories of hegemony, antagonism and populism developed throughout Ernesto Laclau´s work. The hypothesis in this paper states that each of these notions functions by moving among three different analytical fields and may even overlap to some extent. Distinguishing the uses of these categories –in the ontological, ontic and identity fields– will permit placing topics related to the institution of social order, the constitution of political subjects and collective identities at the core of the debate.
